Weather Normalization Adjustment - This is simply a mechanism to stop weather swings from causing the Company from earning or losing more than the allowed rate of return. If the degree days (a measurement of how cold it is) are colder by 2% or more than the 30 year average degree days for the period, the customer will get a credit on their bill. If it is warmer by 2% or more than the 30 year average for the period the customer will be charged on their bill.
