Executive Officers

Michael I. German has served as our chief executive officer, president and director of the Company since it's organization in 2013 and has been the chief executive officer, president and a director of Corning Gas since December 2006. Mr. German also serves as president of our subsidiaries Corning Appliance and Pike County Light & Power Company ("Pike"), and our joint venture investments, Leatherstocking Gas Company, LLC ("Leatherstocking Gas") and Leatherstocking Pipeline Company, LLC ("Leatherstocking Pipeline") and serves on the boards of Leatherstocking Gas, Leatherstocking Pipeline and Pike. Prior to joining the Company, he was senior vice president, utility operations for Southern Union Company where he was responsible for gas utility operations in Missouri, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. From 1994 to 2005, Mr. German held several senior positions at Energy East Corporation, a publicly-held energy services and delivery company, including president of several utilities. From 1978 to 1994, Mr. German worked at the American Gas Association, finishing as senior vice president. From 1976 to 1978, Mr. German worked for US Energy Research and Development Administration. Mr. German is a board member of the Northeast Gas Association, Ampco Pittsburgh Corporation and several non-profit organizations. Mr. German's role as president and chief executive officer and responsibility for the day-to-day operations and significant strategic initiatives, as well as his extensive experience in utility and public company operations, led the board to conclude that Mr. German should continue to serve as a director.

Chuck Lenns joined Corning as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in July of 2020. Chuck began his professional career in the tax practice of Ernst & Young, and he served clients in the firm's power and utilities tax and M&A practice. He was a partner with EY from 1989 until his retirement from EY in 2012. Chuck then served as Vice President - Tax for Consolidated Edison Inc. from 2012 until his retirement in 2018. Chuck is a graduate of the University of Scranton, where he currently teaches in the business school. He holds a law degree from Duquesne University Law School, and he is a certified public accountant. Chuck and his wife Peggy reside near Pittsburgh, and their 4 children are scattered around the world.

Matthew J. Cook joined Corning Gas in February 2008 as vice president - operations, and is now chief operations officer. Mr. Cook has more than thirty years of natural gas utility experience. In addition to the operations department, Mr. Cook manages the customer service department and facilities. From 2000 until joining Corning Gas, Mr. Cook was employed by Mulcare Pipeline Solutions, a supplier of products and services to the natural gas industry, in various positions including sales manager and technical specialist. Previously, Mr. Cook served as operations engineer and gas engineer for New York State Electric and Gas. Mr. Cook also serves as a vice president of Corning Appliance and as a director on the boards of Leatherstocking Gas and Pike. He is not related to our director, Henry B. Cook, Jr.

Julie Lewis joined Corning Natural Gas as a business analyst in August of 2016, was appointed corporate secretary in October of 2021, and became vice-president of energy supply on January 2, 2024. Ms. Lewis manages energy supply for Leatherstocking Gas, Pike County Light & Power, and Corning Natural Gas, the public awareness team, business development and marketing, some regulatory reporting, handles all board of directors governance and administrative activities for Corning Energy Corporation and its subsidiaries, and formerly handled the annual shareholder meeting and investor relations for Corning Natural Gas Holding Corporation when it was a publicly traded corporation. From 2000-2015, she was a substitute teacher for the Johnson City School District. Ms. Lewis was a Broome County Legislator from 2011-2012, and a candidate for state assembly in 2012. From 1998 through today, she has had her own photography business. She also serves on the board of Corning Natural Gas Appliance Company, and is an officer on the boards of Pike County Light & Power and Leatherstocking Gas Company. Julie has held multiple volunteer leadership roles throughout her life and enjoys learning as a lifelong hobby, clay shoots, horseback riding, and traveling. Julie and her husband Mark reside in New York and had six children, five of whom are still living.
